SINGAPORE: Members of Parliament from the labour movement and Nominated Members of Parliament gave their reaction on Sunday to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's announcement in his National Day Rally speech that CPF contribution rates for a segment of older workers would be raised.

Because Singaporeans are living longer, there is a need to help older workers, give them the choice to work longer, and provide better for their retirement, he said.Mr Tay, who is also the chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Manpower, acknowledged that businesses would have concerns.
