Mothers looking to return to the workforce will have access to 35 courses to pick up skills

SINGAPORE - From blockchain and artificial intelligence to tips on how to start a home enterprise, mothers looking to return to the workforce will have a range of courses to choose from starting this month.

In a 2017 survey of 40,000 of its members, Mums @ Work found several factors stood in the way of mothers returning to work. This, despite more than 80 per cent of its members having more than eight years of work experience in mostly white-collar jobs in banking and finance, media and entertainment, and human resources.Most of the 35 courses on offer focus on digital skills, and include 15 short courses which take between half a day and eight weeks to complete.

The remaining 20 online courses will arm the mothers with professional skills for specific industries such as healthcare and landscaping.
