SINGAPORE - Police are investigating 424 people involved in 786 scam cases, in which the victims lost more than $5.4 million.The suspects - 279 men and 145 women aged between 16 and 81 - were rounded up in a three-week operation conducted between July 18 and Aug 7 by the Commercial Affairs Department and the seven police land divisions.Those found guilty of cheating can be jailed for up to 10 years and fined.
