SINGAPORE — In a fillip to efforts to improve the wages of cleaners, some 40,000 Singaporeans and permanent residents employed in outsourced cleaning jobs will receive a basic monthly income of at least S$2,420 from July 2028 — almost double what they are getting now.

Yup while the rest of goods and services, food, electricity, transportation and taxes all increase...

By that time some of the cleaners may die.

Over 6 years? Most of the cleaners I see everyday are elderly. Granted changes need to be gradual for whatever reasons but 6 years for aunties n uncles to get increment. Haiz.
