Mediacorp to broadcast 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Premier League pre-season friendlies

The action will include live coverage of the various sporting events, the opening and closing ceremonies, daily highlights, and on-demand coverage of full events and highlights of various events.

Singapore will be represented by 67 athletes at the Games, which features 72 nations and territories, in events such as athletics, badminton, gymnastics, lawn bowls, swimming and wrestling.The Games is the first multi-sport event to feature an integrated parasports programme.Olympian gymnast Lim Heem Wei, sprinter Amirudin Jamal to lead Team Singapore at 2022 Commonwealth GamesMediacorp will also broadcast six friendlies involving English Premier League clubs from Jul 12 to Jul 22.

Long-time rivals Manchester United and Liverpool will play their first-ever pre-season friendly in Asia against each other in Bangkok, Thailand on Jul 12.The other four friendlies will take place in Australia, featuring Aston Villa, Leeds United, Crystal Palace, as well as Australian side Brisbane Roar.

meWATCH will also feature live broadcasts of two friendlies between Singapore's and Hong Kong's women's national football teams at Jalan Besar Stadium on Jun 23 and 26. The matches will provide valuable game time for the Singapore side ahead of the ASEAN Football Federation Women's Championship.The FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup, which will be hosted in Singapore for the first time, will be aired live on meWATCH from Jul 6 to Jul 10.
