LONDON : McLaren will take over the title-winning Mercedes Formula E team and enter the all-electric world championship when it starts a new"Gen3" era in its ninth season next year, they announced on Saturday.

Season nine is the start of a new era for Formula E with its third-generation car billed as the world's most efficient and capable of reaching speeds of 320 kph . "I firmly believe that Formula E will give McLaren Racing a competitive advantage through greater understanding of EV racing, while providing a point of difference to our fans, partners and people," said Brown.
