A driver allegedly hurled vulgarities at police officers and hit one of them on the head after he was involved in a car accident, said police in a statement.
Police were alerted on Monday at about 2.35am to a traffic accident involving a car which had collided into a road divider along Middle Road. The offence of voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years, and a fine or caning.
