KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will seek international arbitration if Singapore does not renegotiate the 1962 Water Agreement, said Foreign Minister ...

A day later, Dr Balakrishnan said in Parliament that Dr Mahathir’s comments were a“The 1962 Water Agreement is not about who is richer or poorer," Dr Balakrishnan said."It is about the fundamental principle of respecting the sanctity of agreements."

"Any breach of the 1962 Water Agreement would call into question the Separation Agreement, and this Separation Agreement is the basis of our existence of an independent sovereign state. "Our longstanding position is that neither Malaysia nor Singapore can unilaterally change the terms of this agreement between our two countries."Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan with Malaysian counterpart Saifuddin Abdullah during a joint press statement on Tuesday . He said: “We are honouring the agreement, which is why we say we can review 25 years after the agreement is signed”.

"So I don't understand what English is used by the Singaporean Foreign Minister to interpret it in such a manner," he said.He claimed Dr Balakrishnan had also insinuated that Malaysia has problems with governance."That is a malicious accusation, it is hitting below the belt," he said.

Malaysia and Singapore SHOULD seek international arbitration because the two sides are clearly unable to agree on the meaning of a simple word “AFTER”. Good Faith is lacking when they deliberately stir up their citizenry by “alternative facts”. Full story please, Brothers

Meanwhile. Methane poisoning in pasir gudang , Johor. I suggest ministers focus on their own air first before talking about our clean and SAFE water they have been using.

When Malaysia going to learn. When the blind is always blind.

Seriously? LOL

Another example of how incompetent these leaders are, no wonder they are where they are today. Unless they wake up, they will always remain backwards in economy and mentality

SUCKER!

So...like when...?

Often wonder whether the Malaysian minister understands the definition of sovereign agreement. And we are supposed to be quiet & subservient when they hurl abuses and groundless accusations at us. We'd be branded 'reckless ' otherwise.

Ok good.

Wah! Really ah?

Well Malaysian living in Johor.... that’s the Government you voted for!

Wow! So scary 🤭

Wow... It take so long to make a decision like that... Finally you got it. We will always be neighbours irregardless what the international court decide. At least we are finally moving forward. Please don't prata... OK.

That is if they have the cheek to bring up their argument LOL

Wasn’t that what Singapore wanted previously but Malaysia chicken out? Wow...another flip-flop roti prata ace in the making!
