Students should seek chances to study abroad to widen horizons: Lawrence Wong

SINGAPORE - Having the opportunity to go abroad for a semester or a year as a student brings exposure that is tremendously useful, especially at a young age, Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said on Saturday .

In the"Ask Me Anything" segment held via video call, Mr Wong answered questions from several people tuning in to the show. His experiences abroad included busking with his American roommate while he was studying economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on a Public Service Commission scholarship.

Mr Wong said the pandemic has shown that it is the"shared humanity" of Singaporeans that binds them together.

NUS law not as good as study overseas?

Welcome the idea but where to find the money? Its too much money!!!

Ok, Lawrence Wong. I agree with u. Now show me how I can afford it.

So why strive so hard here?

Being cancer-stricken and begging CPF Board to repay overdue debt; that which in any case cannot be done as the money had been commingled and funneled to private entity Temasek Holdings for Ho Ching to wager on unviable, untenable and ultimately, invariably doomed gambles

how do parents afford overseas expenses? local uni not meant for Singaporeans ?

And let foreign kids invade our schools?

Err where to find the money for our children to study abroad leh..? Parents? If parents cannot afford than it will make the parents feel bad/lousy and stress or the child will ask how come other parents can afford but you cannot? Than how?
