Wikileaks founder JulianAssange arrested by UK police

LONDON - London Metropolitan police arrested Wikileaks founder Julian Assange on Thursday after the Republic of Ecuador decided to withdraw the diplomatic asylum it had granted him, according to an e-mailed statement.

“Julian Assange, 47, has today, Thursday 11 April, been arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police Service at the Embassy of Ecuador,” police said. Minutes before, Ecuador President Lenin Moreno announced Ecuador had withdrawn Assange's diplomatic immunity.British Home Secretary Sajid Javid said Assange was in custody and was"rightly" facing justice in the UK.
