Mr Shanmugam was giving an update on the Government's efforts to seek views on the law, a week after afamilies, marriages and children in relation to a possible repeal of Section 377A.community will instead prioritise providing support for fellow LGBTQ Singaporeans.

When Singapore is NOT ready a PM of “other” races, should we be even talking about 377A repeal?

If lifestyle orgs. want the word “marriage”, they can have it. However, GLBT citizens must be entitled to: (1) anti-discrimination protections; and (2) civil unions with the same policy benefits as “marriage” Here’s to a fair Singapore, with common space for ALL citizens.

Unlikely? Red herring for your breakfast

Don't repeal I don't want to see gay couples in ROM

If 377A is repealed, Catholic Church's concern is for marriage to remain between man and womanSINGAPORE: The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore said on Sunday (Jul 31) that should Section 377A - a law that criminalises gay sex - be repealed, its concern is for marriage to remain between a man and a woman. The Archdiocese's statement was released on its website in response to media queries on r it can remain between a man and woman for catholics~ the rest of the country is not catholic, so don't try to dictate what the rest of us can or cannot do. imagine if Muslims wanted all of us to abstain from pork Enough of all these. We are a secular state, not a Catholic state. With all due respect, gays are not gay by choice and should not be discriminated on the policy front for the sole reason that they are unable to get legally married.

Singapore Catholic Church says marriage is between man and woman but it respects dignity of LGBTQ peopleIf they are true to their word, then they must irrevocably agree that: (1) the legitimate human rights of GLBTs as citizens must also be safeguarded. (2) GLBTs must be entitled to civil unions with the same policy benefits as “marriage”, and anti-discrimination protections. What about those of us who are NOT Catholics? We're free to want that marriage LEGALLY (not by religion!) be allowed between any 2 consenting adults, right? Marriage is a legal contract between two persons. I do not think Christians have anything to say about it.
