LOS ANGELES: Las Vegas casinos, which have been shuttered for more than two months because of the pandemic, will be able to reopen next week with restrictions on physical distancing and crowd numbers, the state's governor announced late on Tuesday.

Instead he made the announcement in a statement that was followed by a phone call with reporters from his home, where he is quarantining pending test results. It was unclear as of yet which casinos will open their doors on Jun 4, but several companies, including Wynn Resorts and Las Vegas Sands, have backed physical distancing measures and said they would provide masks, gloves and hand sanitizers.'MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH'

"What happens if someone who arrives in Vegas asymptomatic, develops symptoms here and decides to hole up in their room for a couple of days instead of asking for medical attention?" the union said.
