The new Huracan Evo is a bull with sharpened horns, with a more powerful engine, better handling, and aggressive new looksTHE latest iteration of Lamborghini's most popular sports car, the Huracan Evo , was launched in Singapore on April 17, priced at S$998,000 without Certificate of Entitlement. Customers who place orders now can expect to receive their cars in the fourth quarter of this year.

The headline update is a more potent engine - the Evo borrows its 5.2-litre engine from the Performante, a track-focused version of the Huracan that debuted here in 2017. The V10 powerplant packs 640 horsepower and launches the Evo to 100km/h in a blistering 2.9 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 325km/h.

Aggressive-looking new bumpers, a rear spoiler neatly integrated into the engine cover, and revised underbody aerodynamic devices result in a five-fold increase in downforce. This complements a new electronic"brain" that monitors dynamic forces and the driver's inputs, to predict how the car will react next, and adjust the steering, suspension and drive systems for more precise handling.

The final piece of the puzzle is a more modernised interior, courtesy of a new 8.4-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen that controls all the car's functions including climate, entertainment, and navigation, and offers Apple CarPlay integration as well. Customers who desire an even more visceral experience might want to wait till the tail end of 2019. That is when a convertible version, the Huracan Evo Spyder, hits town.
