Jennifer Lopez Was 'In The Bathtub' When Ben Affleck Proposed To Her: 'I Was Literally Taken Off Guard'

The 52-year-old star — who was set to marry Affleck back in the early 2000s before splitting up — got engaged to fellow A-lister Ben, 49, on Saturday for a second time and was"taken totally off guard" when he popped the question.

Writing in her 'On the JLo' newsletter, she said:"Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth , my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed. I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again."

Following their 2004 split, J Lo married singer Marc Anthony and had twins Maximillian and Emme, 14, with him; the couple divorced in 2011. Affleck said 'I Do' to actress Jennifer Garner in 2005, and they have Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10; the pair went their separate ways in 2018.star added: “I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘is that a yes?’ I said ‘YES of course that’s a YES.

"It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could’ve ever imagined. Just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other. Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love."
