SINGAPORE — Within a month of working for her Singaporean employer, Rike Kusnul Kotimah had stolen S$50 in cash and taken a video of the employer’s four-year-old son changing clothes.

The Indonesian domestic worker then uploaded the clip, in which the boy’s private parts could be seen, on her TikTok account.

She pleaded guilty in a district court to both offences. Another charge of distributing an intimate recording was taken into consideration for sentencing. Her employer told her that if she found money lying around the landed home or while she was doing laundry, she should hand over the money to them directly. When Rike's employer agreed to the request on April 14, she checked Rike’s iPhone photo gallery to ensure there were no pictures of her household.

Rike was questioned before admitting to taking the photo while doing laundry because she had never seen Singapore dollar notes prior to this. The video clip, which was at least 18 seconds in length, captured her changing the boy’s pants and exposing his genitals. She claimed that she recorded the video as a memento.
