From the above, we can see that the SSB offers a lower interest rate at 3.16% but at a much lower minimum deposit amount, at S$500, than the Fixed Deposit Account which has an interest rate of 3.45% and a minimum deposit amount of S$10,000. However, the tenure for the SSB is also much longer, at 10 years, as compared to the tenure for the Fixed Deposit Account which is just 6 months., similar to SSB, is also a type of government-issued bond issued by the Singapore Government.
