PHOENIX, Arizona: Tardar Sauce, popularly known as Grumpy Cat due to her seemingly grumpy expression, died on Tuesday .
In a post on Instagram on Friday, Tardar Sauce's family announced that the seven-year-old feline had died due to complications after an infection."Despite care from top professionals, as well as from her very loving family, Grumpy encountered complications from a recent urinary tract infection that unfortunately became too tough for her to overcome," read the Instagram post.
"She passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, May 14, at home in the arms of her mommy, Tabatha."
