The incident, which left one passenger dead and many others injured, caused the flight to be diverted to Bangkok, Thailand. The 30-year-old, who had her arm in a sling, said: “It was just so quick, over in a couple of seconds and then you’re just shocked. Everyone’s pretty freaked out...The pilots saved our lives.” Singapore Airlines has since brought 131 passengers and 12 crew members to Singapore through a relief flight early in the morning of May 22.
