PARIS - More than 3.9 billion people, or half of the world's population, are now being called on to remain in their homes to combat Covid-19, according to an AFP tally on Thursday .

Some 2.78 billion residents of 49 countries and territories are currently subject to obligatory confinement at home. Large parts of the US are under some kind of lockdown and even relatively isolated New Zealand has not been spared.

That's like 3.5 billion. Is there a world human population clock. Also it would be helpful to look at Registry of Births and deaths statistics about mortality in 2019 during Jan , Feb and March compared with 2020. 🙏🏼
