terribly overpaid politician eg how much is the mayor of greater london paid compared to our part timer mayor?

Don’t hear other ‘mature’ societies like US, Europe etc not stepping in when it’s people need them. Perhaps SG wants to be like ‘mature’ China, sweeping aside people to protect govt reputation. Is SG govt trying to shirk responsibility here?
