Despite filming for the series taking place on July 5, details are light on Amazon Prime Video's Fallout TV series.with podcaster and AI researcher Lex Fridmen, Bethesda director Todd Howard revealed an important tidbit: "It's not retelling a game story."
"When people wanted to make it a movie, they wanted to tell the story of Fallout 3 or tell the story of Fallout 4. For this, it was 'Let's do something that exists in the world of Fallout,'" Howard said. "It's basically an area of the map and like, 'Let's tell a story here that fits in the world we built and doesn't break any of the rules'. It can reference things in the games, but isn't a retelling of the games. It exists in the same world, but it's its own unique thing, so it adds to it."
In fact, the first look at the TV series depicts the members of Vault 33 looking on while someone stands in the brilliant light of their Vault door opening for the first time. But Vault 33 has not made an appearance in any of the Fallout games before. The Fallout TV series is developed by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan , and will star Walton Goggins and Ella Purnell .
