Exercise Station Guard, taking place from 10am to 4pm, will be carried out by the Land Transport Authority , SBS Transit and SMRT Trains.
It also serves to raise public awareness of the security threats which Singapore faces and familiarise commuters on how they should respond in the event of an emergency on the public transport network, they added. Commuters are therefore advised to factor in additional travel time for security screening during the exercise period, as some may be asked to go through metal detector checks and have their belongings scanned by X-ray machines.Commuters must also keep their masks on while going through the security screening, in line with the current requirement when commuting on public transport.
