LONDON: There are early signs that people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 may be able to transmit the Delta variant of the virus as easily as those who have not, scientists at Public Health England said on Friday .

Vaccines have been shown to provide good protection against severe disease and death from Delta, especially with two doses, but there is less data on whether vaccinated people can still transmit it to others. PHE said that of confirmed Delta cases that had ended up hospitalised since Jul 19, 55.1 per cent were unvaccinated, while 34.9 per cent had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Don't brag too big of mRNA vaccines. Breakthru infections worldwide among fully vaccinated people. Once virus mutated among vaccinated people that's the end of the world

hence no more talk abt herd immunity. just reduced severity. 80 % vaccination rate in 2021 40%revaccination rate in 2022 25% in 2023 etc. get ready to close borders again 2 months after we decide endemic means heading for 70%infection n reinfection

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the vaccine doesn’t stop transmission but rather preventing serious illness and death from covid.
