MANILA -When asked about South Korea's remarkable success in containing a large-scale epidemic without any large-scale lockdown, that country's foreign minister, Kang Kyung-wha, proudly emphasised:"The basic principle is openness, transparency, and fully keeping the public informed. And I think this is paying off."
Since then, the Asian country hasn't only sustained remarkable technological advancement, it has also transformed itself into one of the freest and most innovative nations on earth. As Alan Peter Cayetano confidently boasted during Mr Duterte's early months:"The Philippines is becoming more like Singapore in terms of being able to walk the streets at any time at night."
Though speaking in three languages, and sincerely adopting the sociolingual nuances of each community, Mr Lee kept his national address succinct, lucid, and compassionate. There were smiles, avuncular hand gestures, and countless moments of human connection. As epidemiologists such as Benjamin Cowling and Wey Wen Lim explain, this went hand in hand with state-of-the-art contact tracing as well as the rapid establishment of quarantine centres to prevent large-scale intra-community transmission.
He will never learn from real leaders. He is a sociopathic, facism acting dictator.
Stubborn old Fella wont learn from Others

this is what other asian countries do...
PDI. ha! no wonder..
Many of the 110M Filipinos are hard heads..They dont follow the quarantine laws then abusing and insulting leaders for telling them to just stay at home..
FILIPINOS should learn from Asian neighbors..
I am hoping Filipinos will learn from the citizens of Singapore, Japan and Taiwan.
Irrespective of leadership or any humanitarian crisis - all depends how the general public is disciplined & mannered to follow law & order that is required to tackle the crisis in a more systematic & result oriented way. If not, the leadership will be questioned first, public not
In summary, no matter what type of leadership each countries have, good or bad, the outcome is still the same. The virus is still spreading and killing hundreds of people. It is up to the citizens to be vigilant, stay at home because the government cannot watch over all of us
Could. But won’t.
