Victoria Police say the car, a white 2008-2017 Mitsubishi Lancer, came to a stop and allowed the bicycle to pass before accelerating towards the rider, mounting the curb, and deliberately hitting the"The victim fell off his bicycle and landed on the road as the car continued on, dragging the bike for over 100 metres," police said in a statement. The 59-year-old cyclist suffered grazes and bruises and was taken to hospital for treatment.
