BENI, DR CONGO - Twelve people have been killed over three days by a notorious militia in the troubled Beni region of eastern DR Congo, where the army is battling armed groups, local officials said on Sunday .
The group attacked an army position in the village of Mwenda on Saturday night, killing eight people, local administrator Donat Kibwana told AFP."The attack was carried out by the ADF," he said, adding that the village's inhabitants were fleeing. Armed fighters were trying to cross from the neighbouring province of Ituri, spokesman Mualushayi said.
