Applications for the grant can be made until Dec 31, 2022, the Ministry of Social and Family Development said in a media release on Tuesday .
It provides financial assistance to people who have lost their jobs, are on involuntary no-pay leave or have had significant income loss for three or more consecutive months. Those who are receiving or have received the grant previously can apply for a renewal from their final month of grant assistance, or after their assistance has ended.
As part of the current eligibility criteria, all grant applicants must have been economically active before their application.
