COVID-19 infections in Singapore top 11,000, with 1,037 new cases

SINGAPORE: Singapore confirmed 1,037 new cases of COVID-19 as of noon on Thursday , taking the national total to 11,178.

This is the fourth day in a row that Singapore has reported a daily increase of more than 1,000 cases.The vast majority of the new cases are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories, the Ministry of Health said in its preliminary release of figures."We are still working through the details of the cases, and further updates will be shared via the MOH press release that will be issued tonight," the ministry added.

Twelve people in Singapore have died due to COVID-19. The latest fatality was announced on Wednesday night - an 84-year-old Singaporean woman identified as Case 1071.among work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories in the last two weeks.

I checked some 16 confirmed cases from 15/4 of Singaporeans , age 80-89 actually 6 of them . Age 70-79 5 of them , age 60-69 5 of them .... what the f*ck 6 of them over 80 How did they get infected , at home ? Someone from family infected them ? Or went out ?

Must accept the fact, although clusters of dorms, but still by local. And every day 20+/-, is still local spreading, hope can tracing the link.

The daily wait for numbers and the usual “The vast majority ... blah, blah, blah”

for those who went outside buy groceries or food , u might wear a mask ,not sanitising your hands before u stepped into the god damn house , good luck to u

Can't help worrying for our frontline warriors. I watched an interview CNA had done with the medical team attending to the migrant workers and they were clearly burning out.

Very soon our system will be overwhelmed, not finger pointing here but what is the game plan besides extending circuit breaker for the general public which makes up now the minority of cases. Pretty bleak besides daily report of 1000 cases.
