SINGAPORE — There have been an additional 175 cases of COVID-19 infection detected in Singapore as of noon on Sunday , taking the country’s total case count to 55,104.
The vast majority of the cases are Work Permit holders currently under quarantine and workers who “tested positive in previous days due to dormitory clearance”, said the Ministry of Health in a press release. There is one community case, a Singaporean, and three imported cases among the new infections. The imported cases have been place on Stay-Home Notice upon their arrival in Singapore, said MOH.
The government’s Inter-agency Taskforce completed the testing of all migrant workers in the dormitories on Friday, except for a few standalone blocks in the dormitories that serve as quarantine facilities. Those staying in these quarantine facilities will be tested when their isolation ends and the authorities expect the case counts to remain high in the coming days, before tapering down thereafter.Stay in the know on-the-go: Join Yahoo Singapore's Telegram channel at http://t.
