Medical sources said the city was seeing another day of 100-plus infections as there were many preliminary positive cases from the day before.

Hong Kong recorded its 16th coronavirus-related death on Friday, as medical sources said the city had seen more than 100 new Covid-19 cases for the third day in a row.

Health authorities said in a regular coronavirus press conference on Thursday there were more than 80 preliminary positive cases pending confirmation. It was not immediately clear whether the amount of new cases on Friday would set another record, after the city saw a daily high of 118 new infections on Thursday.
