SINGAPORE - The NTUC FairPrice store in Bedok Mall where an employee was diagnosed with Covid-19 will reopen only on Saturday , after it has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

The supermarket chain also debunked rumours that the affected staff member had worked in the sushi section of the supermarket. The FairPrice Finest store closed for a three-day deep cleaning on Wednesday after one of its staff tested positive for Covid-19 the day before. The employee worked in the back end of the store replenishing stock, and had minimal contact with customers.

The work is done by NEA-approved contractors, with the store only allowed to operate again after the agency has inspected the place and given the go-ahead.
