The problem with festive e-greetings is not the volume of WhatsApp messages or emails, but the fact that the bulk of them are not personalised, says career strategist Adrian Choo.

Instead of recycling animated GIFs, try writing a short but personalised message that will go a long way in showing the other party you actually care about them? “I hope your kids will enjoy the new school year ahead”, or “I hope you had fun on yourlast month” - these sort of messages show you listen and remember little titbits of conversations you’ve previously had with them.

And for the really special people in your life, consider creating personalised videos of yourself in your New Year regalia, oranges and all, sending them goodwill wishes?

How so? Would anyone in their right mind get “hopping mad” to receive greetings in any form least e-greeting? Guess most are “hopping mad” to such ignorance articles. Btw, I don’t even bother to read it.

That's lunar new year, not Chinese. Other east Asians celebrate lunar new year too, such as Hongkonger, Vietnamese and Korean.

What a hypocrite. Well, it's a good time for such people to block such contacts, instead of having to complain about well wishes received. It seems tis person has 423 contacts he donot wish to keep in contact but shared his mobile number.. probably outlived their usefulness..
