WATCH: A 33-year-old man was taken to hospital after a car went up in flames on the PIE, near the Jalan Eunos exit. The accident happened on Sunday at around 10.35am.

The accident on Sunday morning, at around 10.35am, involved two cars along the PIE in the direction of Toa Payoh, said the police in response to queries.A spokesperson from the Singapore Civil Defence Force added that the blaze was extinguished using a water jet and the cause of the fire is being investigated.

Video footage of the fire taken by other drivers, including some posted on the YouTube channel of social media group SG Road Vigilante, showed a light blue Honda FitIts front bumper appeared dented from an impact, while another silver car could be seen parked on the road shoulder several metres ahead.The police is investigating the accident, said its spokesperson.
