Capella Singapore installed a plaque on top of the spot where Trump and Kim shook hands for the first time.

It seems like forgotten fever dream now, but less than a year ago, the world was fixated on our tiny little island where two larger-than-life political figures met each other. The luxurious Capella Hotel on the resort Island of Sentosa played host to the spot where US President Donald Trump came face to face with his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong Un and shook hands for the first time.

A historic occasion to say the least — it was the first time a sitting US president and a North Korean leader held talks . This may have taken place some time ago, but Capella Singapore actually installed a shiny plaque on the very same spot where their hands shook. A bold, hard-to-miss one too to commemorate the event.

Apparently, guests have been taking pictures with the plaque, imitating the golden handshake that was shaken on June 12 last year. This article, , originally appeared on Coconuts, Asia's leading alternative media company. Want more Coconuts? Sign up for our newsletters!
