SINGAPORE — Eighteen people were left stranded in six cable car cabins for at least half an hour on Wednesday evening due to an"operating system error".

“Before the system could be restarted, however, the cable car cabins were required to be returned to the nearest station for guests to disembark safely. In-cabin announcements were made to inform guests about the temporary stoppage,” the spokesperson said in response to CNA's query. The cabin return process was activated using a secondary system at 9.47pm, and all passengers alighted by 10.55pm.

The Mount Faber Line runs between stations at Mount Faber and Sentosa, with a station at HarbourFront in between.“After all the passengers had disembarked, our team restarted the system to resolve the operating system error. This was done in accordance with the cable car manufacturer’s operating manual,” the spokesperson said.
