BTS will be attending various international conferences in the coming months, including the 75th United Nations General Assembly in New York in September.

– K-pop superstar group BTS has recently been appointed Korea's special envoy by president Moon Jae-In.

As reported on IMBC, the Blue House announced the good news on 21 July, stating that the septet is now the country's Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture. "BTS will attend major international conferences such as the UN General Assembly in September as a special presidential envoy to deliver messages of comfort and hope to young people around the world, and carry out various activities to promote international cooperation," said spokesperson Park Kyung-Mi.

"The purpose of this appointment as a special envoy is to broaden the horizons of diplomacy and lead global issues through collaboration with private experts around the world. The message of comfort and co-existence and harmony contained in BTS' songs is also in line with the Republic of Korea's will to overcome the COVID-19 crisis through solidarity and cooperation."

On the other hand, BTS' new hit song, "Permission to Dance" has recently replaced their previous song, "Butter" as the number one song on the US Billboard Singles Hot 100 this week, after the latter spent seven weeks on top.

Heartiest congrats to both the new appountees. I commend CNA for its factual reporting, openness & ingenuity that make it one of my favourite intl news channels. MediaCorp can never ever produce anything good and worst of all nothing significant in their 小圈子. Absolutely garbage Hopefully Doreen can bring in REAL palatable talent to boring mediacorp n Virginia come up with much better contents. Oh btw I hvnt seen local channels for decades.✌
