U.S. President Biden delivers remarks on the Department of Labor's March jobs report, in WashingtonWASHINGTON - President Joe Biden on Monday defended his proposal to increase corporate taxes to help pay for a big boost in U.S. infrastructure spending, saying he is not at all worried the tax hike would harm the economy.
Asked if raising the corporate tax rate to 28% from 21% would drive away corporations, Biden said, "Not at all ... there's no evidence of that." "I'm going to push as hard as I can to change the circumstances so we can compete with the rest of the world," he said. "Everybody else in the rest of the world is investing in infrastructure and we're going to do it here."
