A basketball coach is being investigated by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau for allegedly taking money to secure students’ admissions into secondary schools.
In response to queries from The Straits Times, the Ministry of Education said on July 25 that it is aware of the case. “MOE takes a serious view of such reports, and will investigate to ensure that DSA selection was conducted in accordance with our selection guidelines,” it said, adding that it will continue to ensure that the DSA selection process is fair and accessible to all students.
In response to queries, CPIB said: “Due to confidentiality issues, we are unable to provide information on whether any individual or entity is being investigated for corruption.”
