China believes it has 'basically curbed' the spread of a disease that is believed to have emerged in a live animal market in the city of Wuhan in December AFP/STRChina imposed a temporary ban on selling wildlife on Jan 23 and is now reviewing its legislation to restrict commercial wild animal trading on a permanent basis.
US officials have also called for wet wildlife markets across Asia to be closed. Wet markets exist throughout Asia selling fresh vegetables, seafood and meat, with some also selling exotic animals. Both France and Britain said now was the time to fight the virus, not to apportion blame. China has accused Australian lawmakers of taking instructions from the United States.

This i totally support. We should make it sanctions and jail time for all
It ain't the only way e.g. fruit bat viruses jump species - remember Nipah Virus : there was no wet market! 🙄 And then Australia, remember Hendra virus?! 🧐 Horses man, beautiful horses.. And humans and fruit bats! 🦇
Should have been done many years ago. We just can’t go through this again and again.
Some sense being finally spoke
