SINGAPORE - South-east Asian countries can do more together so that the region's tourism sector can recover faster and smoother from the hit it took as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, said Indonesia's Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno.
Mr Sandiaga was speaking to ST on the sidelines of the Asia Tech x Singapore Summit, which was held at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore hotel in Marina Bay. Indonesia recognises this shift, Mr Sandiaga said, adding that his country is relooking how it issues its visas with this in mind. Mr Sandiaga said that the country is considering offering visas of up to five years that could be reissued on a rolling basis for seniors who wish to reside there.
The time is right for Indonesia to reopen air connectivity, said Mr Sandiaga, who added that he and his team are working with his country's transport ministry to do so.
