AMSTERDAM: Amsterdam's mayor faced criticism from politicians and health experts on Tuesday after thousands of demonstrators packed the city centre for an anti-racism rally in violation of social distancing rules put in place to ward off the coronavirus.

"I had seen how these gatherings grew into massive events in Berlin and London and US cities," she told Dutch public television broadcaster NPO on Monday night, but there had been"absolutely no indication it would be this big". "This is exactly what we don't want," Menno de Jong, a virologist at Amsterdam's UMC hospital and a member of the Dutch national coronavirus crisis team, told the Parool newspaper.

I'm surprised.. Of all countries, Amsterdam rallies for anti racism when I've experienced first hand of racism there.

Mass protest and social distancing just don’t coexist.

If social distancing isn't a farce as we've been saying all along, this won't even happen. People are not breaking SD cos they're angry but cos they've come to realise it's BS

The same country that cancelled Eurovision. I guess lives don’t matter unless they are bunch of singers lol
