All beaches in Singapore closed as part of tougher COVID19 measures: Lawrence Wong

All beaches in Singapore will be closed, said National Development Minister Lawrence Wong in a Facebook post on Saturday. SINGAPORE: All beaches in Singapore will be closed as part of efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

"In theory, we could keep most places open, so long as safe distancing measures are strictly adhered to. But increasingly we see that this is hard to achieve."So tougher measures are necessary. Yesterday, we closed off selected areas in our parks and nature reserves. Today we will be closing all beaches in Singapore." he said.

Mr Wong said people must drastically reduce their contacts with others for the"circuit breaker" to be effective, and the effort must be sustained not just for a few days but until the end of the month at least.

What next footpath?

Peoples are looking for all kinds of places to go out, they cannot stay home, you know. Next will be supermarkets, all flocks to supermarkets, malls, as they are still open. Reason being they cannot stay home. PM said can go for park, etc, all flocks to park, beaches...

Parks, too. Close them.

Circuit Breaker leh , those f*ckers think holiday ah ?

This virus issue is over-hype sending unnecessary fears to the public. What they need is education and not draconian measures. Flu come and go. It has been for centuries.

Now you know why some people last minute go IKEA. Cannot tahan at home 😂

Close All the Parks too.... I can still see some of the ppl are happily walking around without mask with their family, especially in the evening! 😡😡😡

Sooner or later the Parks will be closed too if people are still going out in groups. We are all adults, why do we need the gov to babysit us like we are kids? Most of us are father/mother. We can’t even discipline ourselves yet alone discipline our kids. Shame!!!

melatz oh man we cant hang at the park anymore :/

beach my azz more like a shipyard junk
