A total of 314 COVID19 cases are now linked to the clusters at 8 bus interchanges; Bugis Junction cluster grows to 233 infections

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 177 new locally transmitted COVID-19 infections as of noon on Wednesday , including 90 with no links to previous cases.Fifty-four infections were linked to previous cases and had been placed on quarantine, said the Ministry of Health . Another 33 linked infections were detected through surveillance testing.There were also three imported cases, taking Singapore's daily case count to 180.

Of those who have fallen very ill, 18 are above the age of 60, of whom nine were unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, said MOH. Over the last 28 days, the percentage of unvaccinated who became severely ill or died was 8.3 per cent, while that for the fully vaccinated was 1.1 per cent.More than 8.7 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered under the national vaccination programme, with more than 4.3 million people having completed the full vaccination regimen as of Tuesday.
