SINGAPORE - There were 40 new coronavirus cases confirmed as of noon on Friday , taking Singapore's total to 56,948.

The two were detected as a result of rostered routine testing of workers in the construction, marine and process sectors who live outside dormitories. All five were placed on 14-day stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, and were tested while serving their notices at dedicated facilities, said the MOH.
