The foreigners, who are from Malaysia or India, allegedly used accounts belonging to Singaporeans or permanent residents to deliver food for platforms like Deliveroo and foodpanda.

SINGAPORE: Four foreigners have been charged with working illegally as food delivery riders for platforms, including foodpanda and Deliveroo, without valid work passes.

They each received one charge under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act for being a self-employed foreigner without a valid work pass, and intend to plead guilty. Chaw is accused of delivering food for Deliveroo using his brother's account from December 2022 to March this year. Low Kim Soon, a 35-year-old Singaporean, is accused of lending his Deliveroo account to his ex-colleague, Syazuwan., Deliveroo and foodpanda rider accounts were being offered for sale on Carousell.
