SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) has detected two local Covid-19 cases with the Omicron BA.4 variant, and one local case with the BA.5 variant.

In a press statement on Sunday , MOH said these are the first community cases confirmed to have these two variants, which have been classified as"variants of concern" by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

"All cases were either asymptomatic or had mild symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose and sore throat; and did not require hospitalisation."They had also self-isolated upon testing positive for Covid-19, and did not have any reported exposure to vulnerable settings. They have mutations in the spike protein which confer greater"immune escape properties" and higher transmissibility compared to the BA.1 and BA.2 variants causing the Omicron wave in Singapore earlier this year, said MOH.

According to the World Health Organization, there have been at least 1,000 cases of the two variants reported in at least 16 countries as of May 11.

Ok its a concern...so wats the next step?

Can we call this the African virus?

I would have thought that coercion upon the population to take leaky vaccines with side effects marketed as “safe and effective”, when in reality protection fades within weeks, is more of a concern.

Does this imply election is coming. We must vote for xxx to survive?

Hahahahahaha! This is about interesting as attending a Labour conference. Don't be spreading shite like this nobody is interested.
