SINGAPORE: A 15-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly robbing a convenience store at knifepoint.
Police on Tuesday said they were alerted to a case of armed robbery at a convenience store along Tampines Central 8 on Monday at about 5.30am. The teenager allegedly robbed the victim with a knife and demanded the victim hand over cash amounting to S$827 and cigarettes worth S$181.20. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of police cameras and closed-circuit television footage, officers established the identity of the teenager and he was arrested within 10 hours of the report.The teenager will be charged in court on Wednesday with the offence of armed robbery. If found guilty, he could face a jail term of between three to 14 years and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
