The second series of The Good Karma Hospital returns a year after junior doctor Ruby Walker arrived in India. Meanwhile, Dr. Lydia Fonseca pushes Ruby out of her comfort zone, Ruby discovers her Indian heritage through a long-lost relative, and her relationship with Dr. Gabriel Varma deepens. The heartwarming and humorous series continues to explore the lives of doctors, nurses and patients at the under-resourced but beloved cottage hospital in Barco, India.

The formidable Dr. Lydia Fonseca is, as ever, a force to be reckoned with and she has big plans for Ruby. Lydia is determined to kick Ruby out of her comfort zone and develop her skills as a doctor. THE GOOD KARMA HOSPITAL tells the story of junior doctor, Ruby Walker, who arrives in India looking for a job and a distraction from her heartbreak. She anticipates the sunshine, the palm trees and picture-perfect beaches.

What she doesn't expect are the realities of work, life and even love at an under-resourced and over-worked cottage hospital. Ruby’s confidence has grown but she’s about to face a huge test. Ruby handles a complex medical case, as a storm hits Barco and the hospital’s generator fails. Will Ruby decide to operate on her patient by candle light and with no monitors?
