Roger Sweet , the creator of the He-Man character and action figure, which spawned the popular ‘80s kids series " He-Man and the Masters of the Universe," has died, according to TMZ.
He was 91 years old. According to the entertainment news outlet, Sweet died Tuesday after a battle with dementia. His wife, Marlene, told TMZ that Sweet passed away peacefully at his care facility, just months after she revealed his health decline and launched a GoFundMe to help cover his memory care costs. The outlet previously reported that the couple suffered from a fall while out walking alone and couldn't remember what happened.
Doctors later discovered two brain bleeds, and he was hospitalized in the ICU before being moved into the memory care facility. Sweet was an American toy designer and creative executive best known for his work at Mattel in the ‘70s and ‘80s. He is widely credited with helping develop the prototype for He-Man, which he successfully pitched to then CEO Ray Wagner. He-Man officially hit markets in 1982.

" The show ran for 130 episodes from 1983 to 1985. His death comes as a new live-action "Masters of the Universe" movie from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel is set to hit theaters this summer.
