- Britain s Prince William said the death of his mother Princess Diana left him feeling "pain like no other pain" and called on society to "talk about emotions" to help with mental health issues.He also spoke about his time at as an air ambulance helicopter pilot, an experience which emotionally impacted him to the point that "I could feel it was going to take its toll and be a real problem.
The prince was speaking with British footballers during a television programme titled "A Royal Team Talk: Tackling Mental Health", which is to air on Sunday . The programme comes following the launch of a new phone messaging service by Britain s young royals last Friday to help people suffering a mental health crisis.
William, his younger brother Prince Harry and their wives Kate and Meghan launched the service, called "Shout", with the aim to provide 24/7 support for people suffering from crises such as suicidal thoughts, abuse, relationship problems and bullying by connecting them to trained volunteers and helping them find longer-term support.
The two princes have been widely praised for speaking out about their own struggles with mental health struggles in the wake of the death of their mother and have made the issue one of their main charitable causes.
